University of Lethbridge

Description

A comprehensive academic and research university, the University of Lethbridge (ULethbridge) welcomes more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students from around the world to its campuses in Lethbridge and Calgary each year.
ULethbridge offers more than 150 undergraduate and 70 graduate programs in Arts & Science, Education, Fine Arts, Health Sciences, Liberal Education, Graduate Studies and the Dhillon School of Business. With an average of 33 students per class (undergraduate), ULethbridge offers small classes and access to professors (19 students to each faculty member).
Located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory, the Lethbridge campus overlooks the Oldman River and is known for its signature Arthur Erickson building, spacious campus and stunning views. In 2019, ULethbridge opened Science Commons, the most advanced facility for science education and research in Canada.
ULethbridge is home to leading research centres and institutes across disciplines, including the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience. Both undergraduate and graduate students work alongside accomplished researchers in a highly supportive and multidisciplinary environment that is grounded in liberal education. All students — that’s 100 per cent of undergraduate and graduate students — can take part in work-integrated learning opportunities that are recorded in ULethbridge’s MyExperience Transcript, which provides a record of students’ high-impact experiences to share with future employers. The hands-on experience pays off. According to the latest Alberta Graduates Outcomes Survey, ULethbridge alumni have a 94.8 per cent graduate employment rate. A city of just over 100,000 residents, Lethbridge is located in southern Alberta and is a short distance from the Rocky Mountains, Calgary and the U.S. border. It is one of Canada’s sunniest cities and the warm westerly Chinook winds give Lethbridge some of the most moderate winters in Western Canada.
